Part 2:

Don’t pass any opportunities that come your way… even if it’s a step outside your original path…. Stay in tune with the Lord. That was on repeat in my head the whole day of ministry in Los Pinos. I knew that the Big Guy put it on my heart for a reason, but by the end of Los Pinos the day had passed by just like normal. There were a lot of seeds planted but nothing crazy or out of the ordinary happened. I won’t say I was disappointed, because I wasn’t, I was just expectant. So as we left Los Pinos to find a bus, my expectation for Jesus to direct me where to go was even higher. I simply said to Him, “Father show me the holes, I don’t wanna step over them.”

Getting a bus proved to be harder than we thought, so we took a taxi to a different, and more popular, bus stop and then waited for a bus from there. I knew the Lord was working on something, and when the bus pulled up I quickly heard what. He simply said, “Her name is Amolia.”

Immediately I was on my game, ready to do what He was calling me to do with no doubt in my mind that he’d strengthened me and equipped me to do it. So as I stepped onto the bus, I prepared my heart for whatever was coming.

This bus was so jam packed with people that I was literally half way out the door, hanging on through the bumpy city streets. Amidst the chaos, a single man managed to squeeze his way off the bus, leaving a small area for me to push my way into a few steps above. When I finally made my way up to the spot I stood clinging onto the pole while the bus jerked back into motion. I was quietly in prayer when I heard a small cough in the seat below me. A woman was sitting there while her little girl leaned on her. The little girls eyes were tired as she only looked down at the floor, her skin was pale, her body shouted exhaustion, her hair was thin and short and nearly gone, and she wore a hospital mask over her face. The Lord simply said to me, “Leukemia”. That’s when I got mad. Leukemia holds a very not good place in my heart ever since I lost an amazing friend to it when I was younger. I immediately began praying, some out loud, some in my heart, lots of “In Jesus’ name you are healed” for this little girl. I wanted to lay my hand on her, but the Lord helped me with that when I made eye contact with her mom who had tears in her eyes looking at me. Her mom placed her hand on her baby girls shoulder. There were no words spoken, just a surrounding of love and understanding. I continued to pray when the Lord gave me peace that this little girl had absolutely with out a doubt just been HEALED OF CANCER!!! To challenge the validity of this a bit (never challenge God, He’l just prove you wrong) I told God, “If she’s healed I want her to look straight up to me and talk to me.” IMMEDIATELY this little girl looks straight up and from behind her mask spoke a joyful, “Hola!” My heart just about flipped a thousand times!! For the first time I got to see the beautiful chocolate eyes of this little girl. The first words I was able to speak to her was that she is so incredibly beautiful and that she is loved more than she knows. Two of my teammates later commented how they had been watching and there was a distinct time that all of the energy returned to her body when she was healed, she just sparkled. With the little Spanish that I know, I was able to have a short conversation with this little girl.

Her name is Amolia.

She is 7 years old.

She has (HAD!!) Leukemia.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

This doesn’t just happen on the mission field, your LIFE is a mission field. There are so many holes in the ground right ahead of you but often times you’re too worried about reaching your final destination that you just step over them. Don’t. Get your heart fully in tune with the Lord and seek out what he is calling you to do. Wake up each morning saying, “Lord, I don’t know where you’re going or what you’re doing, but I’m coming with you!” Don’t let comparing yourself to others hold you back from doing what the Lord has ALREADY equipped you to do! A small step for one person may be a giant step for another! There are so many whispers in your heart, so many chances that Jesus puts infront of you but YOU need to choose to tune in and obey because you love Him!

Now go… Jesus is calling…
