Saturdays ministry has become the hardest for most of us to handle. On Saturdays we go to La Plaza which is one of the worst parts of Teguc. It’s a square filled with people. The enemy has a hand there. Beggars, blind people selling lotto tickets, people just destroyed on drugs, prostitution, and crippled abandoned children living in boxes are a few of the things we see every time we go there.  Twelve year olds on paint thinner… prostitution deals right in front of us… People with limps, missing limbs, blind eyes, lost hope.

This is a place that the Lord wants full control over. He’s sent us to start the revolution and to bring the Holy Spirit into the place of darkness.

Walking in there knowing that the Lord has given us the authority to heal and cast out demons it’s a square of huge potential. You just wanna run around telling all evil what’s up, and claiming the Lord’s territory as it is!

But the thing is that what needs to be done isn’t what we want but what’s in the Lords will.

So a few weeks ago I went into the plaza with my guitar. There was some sort of a show going on, as well as a huge speaker system blasting American secular music through the square. And the Lord called me dead to the middle of it all to sing at the top of my lungs.

When I started worshipping there was such a peace and comfort over me. There had to have been around 200 people within a hundred feet of me and nearly all of them turned to hear the Lord’s life. People who couldn’t hear me came closer and Krista stepped in to declare truth over all the people while I continued worshipping.

That’s when the Lord challenged me hard. Past the crowd was an elderly woman pushing her crippled son in a wheelchair. I knew He needed me to go over there, but my head stepped in and said, “Lord, I’ve got tons of people right here for you, if I walk away they’ll go back to what they were doing.”

He simply said, “What will happen with my two children over here is greater than anything that could happen to this crowd. Go.”

So I went. I began forming expectations and thought God was just going to make this man walk again. Boy was I wrong.

In broken Spanish I began speaking with the man and his absolutely precious old mother. I asked if I could pray for them and laid hands on the mans crippled legs. I thought the Lord wanted healing, but in my head the healing meant physical. We got into a very powerful spirit filled prayer, and I knew that Jesus was flowing into this mans body. He looked up at me and asked me to sing for Him. So I did, right there, in the middle of the darkness filled square. The love that His mother showed him was beautiful. It was inseparable, unbreakable. He began to cry. As the spirit covered him in worship he cried. His legs were still crippled, and he was still confined to his wheelchair, but there was a freedom coming about him. Mid song he looked up to his mother and spoke words that brought complete joy to her heart and tears to her eyes.

Prayers are answered. Healing and freedom come. Our ideas of healing and freedom are centered only on what we see…. The Lord heals hearts and frees souls.

That woman prayed the same prayer for her son for 22 years… that woman loves and trusts the Lord with all her heart… In that place of darkness, the light of the Lord’s song and spirit washed over them.

The words he spoke were words of healing, of freedom, of love… the words were words his mom had waited to hear for 22 years….

“Mama, quiero dar me vida a Jesus Cristo.”

Mom, I want to give my life to Jesus Christ.
